One of the greatest kings of the early Mediterranean civilizations put his symbols of power on lumps of precious metal and coinage was born! His emblems gave these coins authority even beyond his realm. This great Lydian king had minted so much coinage that his name conjured an image of incredible wealth among his allies and rivals. We still use the phrase, “as rich as Croesus,” to connote untold wealth. The “Lion and Bull” pendant is available in sterling silver.
